About Dr Carolyn Choy

Dr. Carolyn Choy graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney in 1988 and is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologist of Australasia.  In 1995 after completing specialist anatomical pathology training at Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney, she worked in Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong for 8 years. Being the main teaching hospital of the University of Hong Kong, she was able to gain wider experience in the area of general pathology and was actively participating in undergraduate as well as postgraduate teaching and education.

Carolyn has over 15 years experience in cutaneous pathology since joining the skin and Cancer Foundation Australia in 2004 as a full time pathologist.  In this time until Feb 2016, she has worked closely with world-renowned dermatopathologist Professor Steven Kossard.  Under his mentorship, she has gained vast experience in the areas of inflammatory dermatoses , cutaneous tumours, interpretation of a broad range of melanocytic lesions and the study of hair biopsies.  She was the co-ordinator in the laboratory quality assurance programme, organiser for the dermatopathology teaching to dermatology registrars and was actively involved in staff recruitment to the department.

She joined the Kossard Dermatopathologists in October 2018.
